Christoph Luser

My first encounter with Christoph Luser was at the Landestheater during Alexandra Liedtke's production of Hamlet, where he played Claudius. Away from the theater, we had a funny meeting when we bumped into each other at a pub in Mattsee. I was at a colleague's birthday party, and he was at the bar after filming wrapped on the crime drama "Landkrimi." After a rather bizarre birthday celebration, I gave him a ride to Salzburg. Since I wanted to create portraits of several personalities from the theater and film world, Christoph was one of the first from the German-speaking world.

The portrait shows Christoph Luser in the freight elevator of the Salzburg Festival Hall before the 2024 performance of Jedermann. In the background of the elevator are numerous scratches and damages on the wall, resulting from the scenery used over the past 70 years. He was cast in the dual role of the Good Companion/Devil.

This year he is again performing at the Cathedral Square and for the Bachmann reading.

The portrait was exhibited in August 2025 at Einblick Hallein.
